Hairy Woodpecker

Dryobates villosus

"Bold, steady, and sharp-dressed in the forest"

Your love for the Hairy Woodpecker and the Red-shouldered Hawk shows you value grit and a strong silhouette over the more mainstream raptors. That impressive white beard of yours mirrors the clean, bold patterning of a woodpecker who knows exactly which tree holds the prize. You have a grounded, seasoned energy that skips the common fluff for something more architectural and striking.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
