Spirit bird

Bufflehead

Bucephala albeola

"Tiny, energetic diver with big energy."

By passing on the heavy hitters like Eagles and Ospreys for the zippy Western Kingbird and Tree Swallow, you've shown a love for high-energy, aerial spirits. Your wild, voluminous curls and playful expression perfectly match the Bufflehead's 'buffle' (buffalo) head shape and its reputation for being a bold, tiny spark plug on the water.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
