Barn Swallow

Hirundo rustica

"Zippy, social, and effortlessly low-key charming."

You passed on the intense, armored look of wood-knockers and raptors for the friendly, neighborhood energy of Robins and Bluebirds. Your selfie captures that same approachable ‘porch-sitter’ vibe combined with a swift, observant intellect. You belong with the swallows, finding beauty in the common flight and the warmth of a sturdy domestic home.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
