Spirit bird

Northern Flicker

Colaptes auratus

"A grounded soul with a colorful perspective."

You passed on the high-soaring predators in favor of ground-foragers and songbirds with character, much like this ant-loving woodpecker. Your tortoise-shell frames and textured beard mirror the Flicker's barred back and unique patterns, while your choice of the Belted Kingfisher and Chickadee suggests you value spunk and earthy details over sheer dominance.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
