Swainson’s Thrush

Catharus ustulatus

"Gentle forest songs and silver linings"

Your preference for the Great Gray Owl and Dusky Grouse suggests a deep love for the quiet, textured shadows of the forest. The Swainson's Thrush mirrors your silver-streaked, natural aesthetic and that kind, grounded warmth seen in your selfie. You passed on the noisy, high-energy birds in favor of something more soulful and secretive.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
