Spirit bird

Northern Goshawk

Accipiter gentilis

"A quiet intensity behind a rugged exterior."

You passed on the flashier eagles and kestrels in favor of the focused, deep-woods mastery of the Cooper's and Great Gray Owl. Your flannel-and-stubble style suggests a preference for substance over show, matching a raptor that values tactical precision and a watchful, understated presence.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
