Barred Owl

Strix varia

"Deep forest wisdom with soulful, rhythmic energy."

Since you were drawn to the Great Gray and Bohemian Waxwing, you clearly favor birds with a certain 'mystical forest' gravitas and soft, textured plumage over the common backyard variety. With your silver hair, kind eyes, and the way you are framed by the woods in your photo, you share the Barred Owl’s calm, watchful, and deeply rooted presence.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
