Spirit bird
Northern Goshawk
Accipiter gentilis
"Piercing gaze, focused heart, soulful guardian."
Your preference for the stoic Great Gray Owl and various raptors suggests a high value on quiet intensity and observation over the 'fluff' of waxwings. The steady, discerning look in your selfie perfectly matches the Goshawk's reputation for being both a fierce protector and a deeply focused soul.
A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
