Spirit bird

Gray Catbird

Dumetella carolinensis

"Unapologetic character with a cheeky, clever song"

You skipped the stoic predators and eerie loons in favor of quirky, grounded personality birds like the Robin and Kingbird. Your expressive, high-energy selfie mirrors the Catbird's reputation for being the neighborhood's smartest, most animated chatterbox. Like the 'Dusky' and 'Savannah' birds you loved, you have a subtle exterior but a wildly spirited internal rhythm.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
