Boreal Owl

Aegolius funereus

"A quiet contemplator of the starlit canopy."

By passing on the frantic energy of kookaburras and kestrel-types for the stoic Great Gray, you've shown a soul that craves the deep, quiet woods. Your selfie's upward, thoughtful gaze and preference for dark tones mirror this elusive owl’s habit of surveying the night from a hidden, cozy hollow. You aren't one for the noisy yard birds; you're more about that secret, moonlit wisdom.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
