Boreal Owl

Aegolius funereus

"Intense gaze with a deep forest soul."

You passed on the flashy commoners and sharp hawks, favoring the soulful, stoic depth of owls and forest dwellers instead. Your selfie captures that exact 'searching stare' and furrowed intensity found in a Boreal Owl peering from a hollow tree. You have the vibe of someone who values quiet, rugged observation over the noisy chatter of the backyard robin.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
