"A steady rhythm for the forest floor"

Your preference for the Ladder-backed and Northern Flicker shows you value a bird with a purpose and a sturdy beat. With your wise eyes and distinguished white beard, you share the focused, methodical energy of this rhythmic builder who knows exactly where to find the heart of the matter.

A note on your bird: it wasn't picked from the 10 you swiped through — those were just the warm-up. It was chosen from our full flock of 100 iconic Canadian birds, matching the pattern of what moved you. That's why it may be one you never met on your journey.
